‘A horrific scenario’: Waiting for Germany’s point of no return to be named

Moscow, December 16 – RIA Novosti. Bloomberg reported, citing analysts’ calculations, that indicators of Germany’s economic potential are below pre-pandemic times and that the country is approaching the point of no return.
“After five years of stagnation, the German economy is now 5% smaller than it would have been had the pre-pandemic growth trend continued,” the article said.
As mentioned earlier, much of the deficit caused by these structural changes will be difficult to fill as the country’s economy becomes less competitive.

Germany’s economy has stagnated for the fifth consecutive year. According to forecasts of the development of economic conditions by the German Economic Institute, the country’s inflation-adjusted GDP will fall by 0.1% this year.

An overwhelming majority of Germans are dissatisfied with the country’s economic situation, rating it as “poor”, according to a YouGov study. However, few expect the situation to improve in the coming decades
